Madras Cafe is a 2013 Indian Hindi political political action thriller film directed by Shoojit Sircar and starring John Abraham, Nargis Fakhri, Rashi Khanna and Leena Paul. The film was set in the late 1980s and early 1990s during the Sri Lankan civil war and Indian intervention in the assassination of former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. The film is discussed with a special officer of the Indian Army, who was appointed by intelligence agency R&AW to lead a covert operation in Jaffna as Indian peacekeepers were forced to withdraw.
